Harry Thompson wins place on Arsenal under 11’s youth team

Harry Thompson, Year 6, has won a place in the Arsenal under 11’s youth team as a goalkeeper. Harry trains 3 times a week at the Arsenal academy called the Hale End youth academy and has a match every Sunday. Ross Kitterage suggested that Harry tried out for the team.

Harry has been playing football for 5 years. He supports Arsenal, but hasn’t yet met any of the first team players. Harry says that the best thing about training is the high intensity and the worst thing is the sacrifices he has to make as training takes up a great deal of his free time.

Harry’s inspiration is Marc-André ter Stegen, he is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the German national team.
