Ski Champion Visit

Howe Green House School was thrilled to welcome Olympic Gold medalist Ryan Regez to school this week. Ryan won Olympic gold in ski cross at the Beijing Games last year, before going on to become the ski cross World Cup Champion shortly after that. Ski cross is a downhill race event where four skiers compete simultaneously to reach the end of a course first. Heavily inspired by the courses and obstacles seen in motocross, competitors navigate sharp turns, big jumps, and each other at high speeds in a race to the finish line.

Our children enjoyed chatting to Ryan, asking lots of questions and taking it in turns to hold his (very heavy!) Olympic medal. Ryan has a family connection to HGH – his cousin is Mrs Catchpole, our fabulous Year 1 teacher here at Howe Green House!
