The majority of the children have school lunches, however some parents choose to provide their child with a packed lunch.
School lunches are prepared off site by Walker Catering, a local company whose son David was a pupil of Howe Green House. David and his mother Irene work closely together with the school to create a healthy and enjoyable menu. Where possible, supplies are locally sourced, and all puddings and cakes etc. are home made on the day. The children have a chance to put forward menu suggestions via the School Council in order to be considered for inclusion when the menu is updated. If your child has special dietry requirements please contact the school.
The menu runs on a three week rotation with parents, together with their child, choosing a main course and dessert in advance. Whilst it is not possible to constantly change options we do notify parents of any problems with food choices by means of a letter. This letter requires you to authorise any suggested changes to ensure your child continues to enjoy their lunch.
On days when children are out of school attending fixtures or outings we provide a packed lunch. Again you will be asked to choose in advance which packed lunch option your child would like and this information is kept on file until required. Of course you can choose to supply your own packed lunch if you wish, although there is no reduction in the fee if you choose this option.
The cost of school lunches is £230 per term, approximately £3.90 per day, and this amount is added to your fee account. It should be noted that there is no reduction in the fee if, for any reason, your child is not in school.
